What is Polymer Insulator?

Polymer Insulator is a kind of special insulation control widget.It plays an important role in overhead transmission lines.There are many types of polymer insulator. Polymer suspension insulator; composite pin insulator;polymer station post insulator; composite line post insulator etc. 

What is Polymer Insulator made of?

Polymer insulator consists of three parts: FRP( Fiber Reinforced Plastic) rod, silicon rubber umbrella , and galvanzied fittings

Silicone rubber shed adopts an integral injection molding process.This process will solve the key problem (interface electrical breakdown)that affects the reliability of polymer insulator. 

Our factory adopts the most advanced crimping technology to assemble FRP rod and fitting.This technology is equipped with a fully automatic sonic flaw detection system. Helping us to make high strength, beautiful appearance, small size and light weight product. 

Galvanized metal fittings can prevent rust.All metal fittings adopt the international standard of galvanzied:ASTM A 153.

Polymer insulator can interact with porcelain insulator. It has reliable structure.so that not easy to damage FRP rod. And it can give full play to its mechanical strength.

The FRP rod of polymer insulator, has good tensile and bending strength,which is 2 times higher than that of ordinary steel,  and 8-10 times higher than that of high-strength porcelain materials.Thus will effectively improve the reliability of safe operation. 

  1. Polymer Insulator has good anti-pollution performance: strong anti-pollution flashover voltage.

Its wet withstand voltage and pollution withstand voltage are 2~2.5 times of the same creepage distance of porcelain insulator. There is no need to clean, and it can operate safely in heavily polluted areas. 

    3.Polymer Insulator has small size, light weight (only 1/6~1/9 of the same voltage levelof porcelain insulator), light structure, easy to transport and easy to install.

  4.The silicone rubber umbrella of polymer insulator has good water-repellent properties.

Its overall structure will keep the internal insulation from moisture.It does not require preventive insulation monitor tests.  It also does not require cleaning. So that reduces the workload of daily maintenance.

The sillion rubber shed has a level of TMA4.5 resistance to trace tracking. The shed has good aging resistance, corrosion resistance, and low temperature resistance. Making it able to be used in -40℃~-50℃ areas .

It also has high bending strength, high torsion strength. So that it can withstand internal pressure.And it can be combined with porcelain and glass insulators Interchangeability.
